Ah, the joys of Valentine’s Day. Pink and red splashed across grocery stores, chocolates and an endless parade of red roses mark the holiday dedicated to love. Nothing commemorates the occasion like a night out on the town — especially a fantastic dinner. Order the roses and make a dinner reservation, the holiday will be here quicker than you can say “honey bunny.”
Here are a few great places in town for a fantastic Valentine’s Day nosh:

Charlie Palmer Steak at the Grand Sierra

Charlie Palmer Steak is one of Reno’s premier fine-dining establishments. The elegant dining room with honey-colored walls and tables clad in snowy tablecloths is the perfect setting for a lovely date. Special menu offerings for the evening include a tasting of shellfish with rock shrimp ceviche, seared sea scallops and blood oranges and crispy oysters with lemon aioli, and a 35 ounce bone-in New York steak for two paired with steamed lobster and roasted wild mushrooms and red wine jus. Roxy's at the Eldorado

Roxy is one of the most romantic restaurants in town with the flavor and panache of Paris. The restaurant is featuring its Valentine’s Day Champagne and Chateaubriand Dinner with a selection of chocolate desserts — the soufflé is a delicious choice. Reservations: 775-786-5700.

Francis' Asian Bistro

Johnny's Ristorante Italiano

Johnny’s offers classic Italian fare, and the atmosphere is Mediterranean chic, with white linen tablecloths and walls painted the sandy color of a seaside villa. The Grill at Quail Corners

The Grill is another Reno establishment great for cozying up to your lover. The restaurant’s J-shaped bar and dining room seamlessly flow together. Ropes of white lights are draped from ceiling to bar, lending a festive glow to the room. On Feb. 14, the Grill will have special offerings including bacon-wrapped diver scallops, Tasmanian king salmon, marinated Australian Lamb Chops and poached Maine lobster and filet mignon. Stone House Cafe

Stone House serves a great breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the cozy table arrangement is conducive to whispering on a date. In warmer months, the patio is a happening place — sip a cocktail and enjoy your breakfast under the shade of an umbrella.
