Johnathan Wright says: Reno doesn't' have any specifically shabu shabu restaurants. You might try Kyoto, on Moana Lane. I haven't been in a while, but at one time, the restaurant did have Japanese hot pot. Ichiban in Harrah's Reno does teppanyaki, but I don't believe there's shabu shabu. For really good Chinese hot pot, go to Shang Hai restaurant in Sparks. The hot pot is only on the special Sichuanese menu (the owners are Sichuanese, despite the restaurant's) name; tell the owner, Jason Jia, that you'd like to try it. I hope you like heat; the Sichuanese hot pot is finished with a slick of chili oil, along with all the chilies already in the broth. Thanks for reading Metromix. JLW

Johnathan is there any Shabu Shabu restaurants in the Reno area? Are you familiar with this style of Japanese dining and if so where can i get some? Steveo
