The Peppermill’s revamped image bearing the famous Tuscan influence counters its zany, neon-lit casino floor with old-world refinement by mixing expected modern comforts with Renaissance style throughout its new amenities. One look at the Biscotti’s restaurant menu reveals American comfort food infused with world cuisine.

The space

As part of the multi-million dollar Peppermill expansion, Biscotti’s is located near the Tuscan Ballroom, a short escalator ride from the hotel’s concierge. Peppered with elements from the Tuscan region of Italy, the décor includes murals of the agricultural area’s mountainous countryside, ceiling frescos and the warm summer colors of a Siena sunset. The space is airy and open with high ceilings, lots of light, a view of the remodeled pool area and artisan glass work.

The food

The Singapore garlic noodles helping was enormous, with lots of large chunks of grilled chicken and enough tang to make it interesting, but it didn’t set my lips afire. I boxed half the serving so I could save room for dessert. I was dying to sample the crêpes.

My dinner partner opted for Tuscan tortellini. His equally large helping was also delicious. The cheese tortellini was served in a buttery sauce, with black pepper to set it off. The pepper was good and balanced in the sample I had, but I wondered if it might become overpowering as more of the dish was consumed. The Pinot’s spice and the peppered pasta left my husband sated. A full bar and large, international wine selection is available. Chianti lovers beware – we only found one listed.

S’il vous plaît and merci …

Biscotti’s dessert café (with a bakery and crêperie) offers some of the most delicious and decadent looking desserts I’ve seen state-side. After suffering the longing pangs for the hazelnut-and-chocolate-frosted street-food staple in Paris, I was determined to sample the crêpes. Our dessert came folded up in a little envelope and slathered in Nutella. We added a scoop of Tiramisu gelato on the side – the café offers a wide selection of fruity and rich flavors of the popular Italian treat and many other delights.

Service with a smile

Our dedicated server greeted us immediately but seated us near the occasionally noisy hallway. Four other parties dined near our area, but we were eating a late dinner and had no waiting. Our server suggested a wine offering. My water glass was kept full, our bread was delivered in a timely fashion and our food was prepared promptly.

The Peppermill’s Biscotti’s is a great little place to get American cuisine, with an international flare. We received immediate, friendly service, and the wide variety of items on the menu will ensure a dish to suit everyone in your party.
