KalieR commented on Natalie Maines, finally ready to make nice
I never get tired of listening to Natalie's voice. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about her solo work without the Dixie Chicks but after listening to her new album on NPR I am loving it! I definitely recommend checking it out.

This is not a 'little girl", it is a boy, named X Tecumseh Clark, visiting the grave of his grandmother with his family when he was approx 10yrs old...

_Everything_Zen.. here is that memo: When an artist's debut CD sells over 1 million copies because a bunch of people who fall in love with him on a TV show buy it up like crazy...then follows that up by selling less than 1/10th that many the second time around when it becomes about the quality of the product instead of reality TV momentum, it will be considered by the general public as a flop. Overly loyal fans will continue to think he is the bestest thing ever. End of Memo.

I think that Purple Turd should at least be in #10. They are a good instrumental hard rock group.Just a drummer and guitarist. reverbnation.com/purpleturd

JimmyMackey commented on 'American Idol' Top 9: The recap
I really liked the Beatles song idea for this show and I’m glad that they had a lot of the more known songs rather than the more obscure ones. As usual, I watched Idol this morning while getting ready to go work at DISH, which is a convenient time for me. I use my DISH Hopper DVR because it skips the commercials automatically when I watch Idol recorded on FOX and that way I have time to see the results before I hear about it at work.
TimSanchez commented on 'American Idol' Top 9 results: The live blog
It was shocking to see Amber in the bottom three, but America got it right by sending Paul Jolley home. I work at DISH with a lot of Idol fans who were wondering if Lazaro would be going home, but his fans steeped up to save him. I missed part of last night’s episode, but caught up with it this morning since it was recorded on my DISH Hopper. I never worry about missing American Idol because my DVR automatically records FOX shows during primetime, and then I can watch it at my own pace.

DouglasLowenthal commented on The Who's Quadrophenia Tour doesn't miss a beat
The concert was phenomenal. I quite choked up at Keith Moon playing with the band again. I have now seen the Who perform Tommy (43 years ago), and now, Quadrophenia. The two seminal rock operas. This is musical closure on a grand scale. Hats off to Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry.
GregHodges commented on 'Gangnam' rapper PSY apologizes for anti-American lyrics
This character will be JUST the ticket for this president. After all, for TWENTY years Obama sat in front of a racist, anti-semitic "preacher" who damned our nation repeatedly. It'll be just like old home week for the Obamas. Hey, maybe Obama's old Chicago pal, Bill "The Bomber" Ayres will drop by for the big shingdig. Neat-o.

Psy will appear in Washington soon.

What about Uiah Heep and Humble Pie? Two of my favorites. I don't know if they made it in but I doubt it because the Rock & Roll Hall of Shame seems to HATE the metal bands and only reluctently votes one in now and then. For that reason, they have no relevence to me nor do I have any wish to actually visit any of their venues. And Styx, I believe you said in the Con section of the comment that they were stilted or plastic (impression of the comment). Man, you need to go back and listen to them again. magician's birthday for one really sets them apart. Lance

pat443 commented on Silversun Pickups to Romney: Don't use our song
Since my wife is a singer, I've had to learn about music licensing. If the venue has an ASCAP/BMI license, they can play the song all day long. If the band wanted to maintain control over public performances, they should've kept it in their bedrooms. You sign with ASCAP, you abide by the contract. If it were for an ad, that’s a different type of license. My pet peeve: I am fed up with self-righteous musicians crying that nobody who disagrees with their asinine politics should be allowed to play their records. Any musician lucky enough to have fans willing to buy their music today should be kissing that fan’s feet, not whining about his politics. They richly deserve to lose half their audience and end up back at McDonald’s. BTW, I never heard of these idiots before, but thanks to their obnoxious preening, I've made a note to avoid their music in the future. They won’t have to worry that I’m playing their music while holding any opinions they disagree with. Happy?
