Local music featured at New Orleans Jazz Fest
Dr. Michael White, Adventures in New Orleans Jazz Part 2 (June 19). The clarinetist, bandleader and Xavier University professor follows last year’s internationally flavored Adventures Part 1 with a roots collection broad enough to include standards (St. James Infirmary), originals (dance hall throwback I Love You Too Much to Ever Leave You) and jazz twists on country (Hank Williams’ Jambalaya), classic rock (Janis Joplin signature Me and Bobby McGee) and vintage pop (1969 Turtles hit Happy Together).
