Sometimes in hip-hop, you get the worst of both worlds
The reviews are in, and it’s official: Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Watch the Throne" does not suck. Yet if history has taught us anything, it’s that supergroups are hardly a sure bet in hip-hop. The genre’s alleys are littered with failed, forgotten or never-quite-launched ideas that probably sounded really good on paper, but failed to achieve liftoff, due to scheduling conflicts, conflicting egos or simply the insanely fast life cycle of the average rapper.
