Chris Brown continues to be a lightning rod for controversy, the most recent incident being a scuffle in a club with rapper Drake. But Brown has remained defiant in the face of critics, and is pushing ahead with rebuilding his career. Check out new album Fortune (***½ out of four).

On the bouncy Bassline, he proclaims, "I'm winning/You heard about my image/But I could give a flying (expletive) who's offended." Too bad he doesn't defy musical conventions as vehemently.

Fortune follows his Grammy-winning F.A.M.E., and he basically sticks to his usual themes — he parties, women love him, haters hate him, he gets plenty of paper.

Not that any of that will matter to the fans who've remained loyal in the three years since domestic-abuse charges threatened to derail him.

Driving electronic grooves and hip-hop-fueled club jams will keep Brown on the radio all summer. Like him or not, he appeals to your urge to get up and move.
