Mix Olympics DJ competition set for Saturday at Tronix

Tronix Nightclub will host the Mix Olympics, a 20-DJ tournament that will take six weeks to complete.

Digital Perfection Entertainment joined with Tronix will host the event, which will give the winner $800 plus a $200 bar tab. Second place gets a $100 bar tab. The contestants are all local and the audience will select the winner.

"There is a blend of veterans and newcomers, which I also think will make six really awesome shows," said Steve Prior, CEO of Digital Perfection Entertainment.

The first-round brackets are split up into four weekends starting Saturday. Events will take place the following Saturdays, Sept. 1, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15.

The semifinals will be Sept. 22nd, which hosts the winner from each of the four weekend battles. The two that emerge from the semifinal go head-to-head on Sept. 29 for the first prize.

"I expect some of the DJs who haven't really been given a chance to step up and surprise everyone," Prior said.

Among the DJs competing this Saturday include Phantom Rage, Kevin Donovan, PROL1F1XXX, The Mener and DJ Twinky.
