Home to the Reno Music Project, an all-volunteer musician collective, this music store’s upstairs becomes a listening room 2 nights a week, including its popular open mic night on Fridays. The setting is sparse, but it’s a homey atmosphere with funky old couches and chairs and free sodas and snacks, transforming shows into a mix of music hall and living room. The sound is excellent, the music mostly on the acoustic side, but with forays into metal, punk and even bluegrass. The non-bar atmosphere lends itself well to those who are serious about their music.
