Microphones or movies: advice for 12 double threats

Since the earliest days of theater, acting and singing has gone hand in hand. Musicals, vaudeville and some early movies required actors to carry a tune. That’s less common today, but some pop stars also impress as matinee idols (or vice versa). Others are better sticking with their day jobs.
We’ll hold off judging Miley Cyrus until her latest movie, “The Last Song,” opens. Until then, here’s some advice for other musicians and actors who have tried to bridge the gap.
