Christopher Nolan snubbed...again!
He may be the most sought after director in Hollywood today, but Christopher Nolan still isn't a best director Oscar nominee. After receiving Director's Guild nominations but no Oscar love for his breakthrough "Memento" and blockbuster "The Dark Knight," it seemed like a sure thing the Academy would finally recognize Nolan for "Inception." No dice. Instead the voters went with Nolan's four co-DGA nominees: Darren Aronofsky ("Black Swan"), David Fincher ("The Social Network"), Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech") and David O. Russell ("The Fighter"), plus Joel and Ethan Coen for "True Grit."
"Inception" was also surprisingly snubbed in the best editing category, but it did receive noms for best picture, best original screenplay, best art direction, best cinematography, best original score, best sound mixing, best sound editing and best visual effects. Plus, you know, it made over $800 million worldwide, so Nolan shouldn't feel too bad.
