Kicking off the 2010 awards season with Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Robert Duvall and more
Bleak drama "Winter's Bone" generated some serious heat at the 20th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, snagging wins for Best Feature and Best Ensemble Performance. Consider this the starter's pistol for the 2010 awards season—the Gotham fete is the first out the gate, unleashing a pack of derby hopefuls on the road to next year's Oscars.
Special honors were doled out to actors Robert Duvall ("The Godfather," "Get Low"), Hilary Swank ("Conviction") director Darren Aronofsky (the upcoming "Black Swan"), and producer James Schamus ("The Kids Are All Right"). Stars like Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore and Anne Hathaway ("Love and Other Drugs") stopped by.
