The Hulk in The Avengers might be the best ever to hit the screen, but Mark Ruffalo had to pay for it -- enduring a motion capture outfit that included a Lycra onesie.
Not one to react in anger, Ruffalo is calling for a little fashion help for his next turn at the Hulk.
"They need to get someone like Neil Barrett or Paul Smith to redesign the motion capture suit," Ruffalo tells USA TODAY of the special effects people behind the Hulk. "I think it's going to be a big story for them when they come out with something a little more cool."
Ruffalo says he had dinner with the minds behind bringing the Hulk to the screen at Industrial Light & Magic. The ILM reps told Ruffalo that he was a "pilot project" for the suit and requested his input.
"I told them you are dealing with vain actors and that they are not going to be happy in these things," says Ruffalo. "And if they can make the suits a little less unflattering, they are going to go a long way with some of the vainer actors. Which I am not."
Marvel President Kevin Feige seems to have gotten the message. Earlier this week he told USA TODAY: "Rest assured, we have already discussed ways of redesigning that suit."
