Not only does Cantina Sparks have great food, and I am picky about my mexican food, they also have a fun atmosphere that is great for friends and family. They have changed the attitude since I have last been there. It is less college themed and more welcoming to all age groups. I will keep going back more often.

I have tried this place twice and have been satisfied both times. I would recommend to anybody looking for a good quick meal. I had the top sirloin medium well both times.

Try the Choc-Mac-Nut mocha! It's awesome. They also have wine and cocktails specials in the eves. It's a great mom and pop to support. Go local!

This place changed owners about a month ago and it is soo much better! They added alcohol back to the menu and they make an awesome Bloody Mary. They put in a TV, so I can watch games now on Saturdays and Sunday. All the old baristas are still there so it is a great mix of old and new in the place. go check it out if you are in east Reno.

Your right, clearly the people in the previous review must have definitely must have been having a really bad day....I have to admit, The Point is really a breath of fresh air. I love singing karaoke there. I think they have the best karaoke system and song selection out there. What those people have to understand is you can't please everyone. Paul the owner and Richie are tremendously kind and courteous and give a ratpack spark on Saturday night. I'm comin to the Halloween Party tonight decked out!

The previous reviewer must have been having a bad day! I love going to The Point as the entertainment is great, the people who participate in Karaoke are talented and enthusiastic and the owners are two of the nicest people I have met in Reno! Please visit The Point and see for yourself. There is a Halloween costume party tonight. Join in the fun...costume or not!

Went to The Point because it was promoted as a Tribute to The Standards Club , think not ! It is just another sleazy karaoke bar with owners who never shut up about Santa Cruz (where they moved from) and how this and that would be happening in Santa Cruz. Owner called Reno people 'flaky and 'non commital'. We are proud to be in Reno and a Reno born person, please do not come here and insult my town and my people. Don't use false advertising either. Your place is a nothing special and with the attitudes there never will be.

Bella Italia is operated in true Italian style. Don't expect some young college-aged waiter jumping through hoops to annoy the hell out of you trying to earn a tip or upsell food like what you get at some Americanized-restaurants (*cough*Olive Garden*cough*)! You won't find that here! Instead you'll find great service, great food, and great prices. Bella Italia has freshly made raviolis, home made sauces, fresh mozzarella, tasty proscuitto, and an awesome owner who knows how to deliver quality. The prices are truly competative, you'll get significantly better quality ingredients for prices that knock the socks off the competition. My significant other and I try to go at least once a week and we almost always finish the meal with their AMAZING Tiramisu! Don't be afraid to buy a bottle of premium imported olive oil or truffle oil. They also have some wonderful Italian treats you'll probably love! The owner's name is Giuseppe Zappala and chances are you'll see him if you're dining after 5pm. I give Bella Italia a 5 stars... some of the best authentic food in Reno! Thanks Giuseppe! - Ben

Simply fantastic pizza that distinguishes itself from your standard chain pizza. Their red sauce is certainly not plain...and perhaps a bit spicy for some (suggestion: if you don't like thick & spicy sauce, ask for thin sauce). Their white sauce has a cream cheese base, which is out of this world! Don't miss out on their specialty pizzas (my favorite is white sauce, basil, Canadian bacon, garlic, and tomatoes), their meatball subs, or their hearty salads. This is a gourmet pizza that competes with the best of them.

I heard lot of good things about this place, but alas it was not to be. Now I'm not going to complare a place like this to say 5 buck pizza or anytyhing along those lines. Thats junk pizza for feeding children. I'm comparing to other gourmet pizza places we have here in town. The crust for me was too doughy and thick on the edges. The crust can be thick on the edge but I like it to be crispyer not like a ring of bread. Honey with pizza, I can take it or leave it, mostly leave it. Toppings are always a personal thing so get what you want. Mine came a little thin on the toppings....saving money eh? Prices seemed on the high side but looking at the prices of my fav pizza place (Brugo's), maybe not out of line comparatively speaking. Good pizza ls getting to be just for rich people! You can try this place , but its not for me.

THIS IS A MUST MISS FOR VISITORS AND LOCALS ALIKE!! The restaurant was nearly deserted on a Saturday night; I should have taken this as an omen! When we got our food it was shockingly bland. Thank goodness we had chili sauce on the table, b/c without it the food tasted like boiled cardboard. This was no surprise, though, since our food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. They more than likely just pulled the food out of a pot of boiling food and slapped it on a plate. That is certainly all they had time for! I would have waited 30 more minutes for decent food!! Although there were only two drinks and two entrees they couldn't manage to get our order right. This was strange b/c they did write it down. Asking politely twice to get the correct food was met with bad attitudes and a bowl of boiled veggies. Still, not our order. At this point we gave up paid and left. What a waste of a lovely evening in beautiful Lake Tahoe!!! I am just glad I didn't get food poisoning. That is the most positive thing I can say about the experience. Unless you've been missing in the mountains for weeks and are desperate, avoid this place like the plague!!!!
Commissar commented on Burning Man Decompression 2009
In any group there are people who don't meet up to the standards of others. Just like in every online area where people can post comments there will be Trolls trying to get a rise out of others. I like the Reno Burners better than the SF burners in general, and this decompression is more fun than SF's.
JustinSullivan commented on Burning Man Decompression 2009
This is absolute proof that even with unlimited freedom to express how creative they are, Reno Burners can't keep from looking like total retards. Maybe if the reno burning man "scene" wasn't some gigantic d-bag circle jerk at this point it would have something to offer.
