What's going on this weekend?

Here's your weekly look at the weekend's best Reno events, typically updated every Thursday.

EDGE is throwing a Models and Bottles party and the theme is UV. Not the bad UV rays, this one involves black lights and a fashion show. BuBinga Lounge also has a cool club event, Well Groomed, which may or may not have a DJ with an oversize mustache.

Great concerts this week include Dev with Whitney Myer Band, and for the folks stuck in the 80s, Rick freaking Springfield. For full list, visit the comprehensive roundup by Mark Earnest.

The God of Carnage

pick The God of Carnage

Bruka Theatre - 99 N. Virginia St. - Reno
May 17 : 8 p.m.

Brüka Theatre presents The God Of Carnage, written by Yasmina Reza and adapted by Christopher Hampton. Tony DeGeiso directs this wickedly funny play that asks what happens when two sets of parents meet up to deal with the unruly behavior of their children? A calm and rational debate between grown-ups about the need to teach kids how to behave properly? Or a hysterical night of name-calling, tantrums and tears before bedtime? This Tony award winning 90-minute dark comedy enjoyed a successful run on Broadway in 2009 – 2010 and enjoys its Nevada debut at Brüka Theatre. Described as a comedy of manners without manners, The God Of Carnage features actors Bradford Ka’ai’ai, Kristin Moffitt, Gary Cremeans and Mary Bennett behaving badly in bad circumstances. Strong language. Suggested for mature audiences only. (Ages 15 and over). Reservations are available through our box office at (775) 323-3221 or on our website at www.bruka.org . Box-office hours are 1 - 5 pm Wednesday through Friday and 12 - 4 pm Saturday. Individual tickets are $18 for general $16 for students, seniors and military and all tickets are $20 at the door. We validate convenient parking at the Parking Gallery on First and Sierra Street. Bruka Theatre is located at 99 N. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501.

There will be artist tables, stage shows, games of all kinds, and a dance to finish the night off. Several workshops will be held to help aspiring artists and costumers with their craft; beginners and experts are welcome to ask questions and give input. Also be sure to check out the Nevada Humane Society and SPCA tables, as they will be attending to help spread awareness, answer questions, and drive the adoption of animals in need of good homes. Finally, our stage will also have improv shows and games; we will dim the lights and break out the glow sticks at 8pm for our dance.
