The annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival begins July 11, with a pair of plays and a concert series staged on the shore of Lake Tahoe with the striking waterfront view as backdrop.

This year, both of the selected Shakespeare works are on the comedic side, though "Measure for Measure" mixes in more drama and commentary than the breezy romance "Much Ado About Nothing."

Mondays feature the Urban Village Music Series with artists from different genres performing, including the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and Omar Alexander.

Tickets for plays start at $22. There are drinks and food served onsite, though you're welcome to bring your own and enjoy a picnic in your sand-set chairs.
