With Artown — 32 days of exhibits, music and performances — it almost seems like the Netflix dilemma: There are so many choices packed into the month of July that the options can seem overwhelming at times.

Well, these are some of the bigger events or smaller ones that we just like. Some of them aren't even officially Artown, but they fit the spirit of things.

In particular, we're psyched for:

Metro Gallery

1 E. First St. - Reno
775-334-2417

The gallery in Reno's City Hall features work by Annie Hooker, whose paintings include robots, airplanes, guns and more as unusual subjects.

Fleischmann SkyDome

1650 N. Virginia St. - Reno
775-784-4811

The 60-seat Fleischmann SkyDome shows large-format films and digital laser shows, and in July, they've got Pink Floyd classics "The Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall," along with the interactive "Spontaneous Fantasia" and "U2."

McKinley Arts and Culture Center

925 Riverside Drive - Reno
775-334-2417

The gallery has a special exhibit with both 2D and 3D works by local director, poet and artist Pan Pantoja.
