UNR graduate student Ahren Hertel gave a brief talk about his paintings to a packed classroom at the Church Fine Arts Building before the crowd moved to the Sheppard Fine Arts Gallery to have a look for themselves.

Hertel became known for his surrealist paintings with childlike and cartoonish characters, but the work that forms his master's thesis is in a much more realistic style while still being recognizable as his.
