Slaughter House consistently brings scare

The Slaughter House in Reno has been set up around Halloween inside Meadowwood Mall for seven straight years. Each year they mix up the tour, but one thing stays the same.

"We spend a lot of time and dedication to make th experience unique and top notch," said Richard Sloan, organizer of the Slaugther House. "You get your money's worth. You will be scared."

The 8,000 square foot venue has about 30 rooms with more than 50 different scare tactics. The cost is $13 and it takes about 15 minutes to go through.

Sloan said the reputation of the Slaughter House has made it so families and couples go back every year.

"People come out screaming, crying and gasping all of the time," he said.

Sloan said that it's not all about scaring people. Every Sunday, younger children are welcome from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for $6 and the venue is more lit and has more happy characters.

For a $2 off discount, bring in a can of food that will be donated to the Northern Nevada Food Bank.
