On the third Saturday of each month, the Wine Walk is hosted by bars, clubs, wine sellers and and other merchants in the Truckee River area in downtown Reno from 2 to 5 p.m.
This Saturday, the theme is South African wines and the walk helps support Koz's Kids, a Reno Rodeo Foundation program that helps raise funds to provide for the basic needs of children in Washoe County.
On Saturday, visit pretty much anybody along the waterfront to get a map of the participants, then visit any of them to purchase a commemorative glass for $20 and a bracelet that gets you tastings at every stop (and there are a lot).
The Wine Walk is nice because it involves many places that don't normally serve wine, from eateries like the Truckee River Eats & Sweets ice cream parlor to the Antiques and Treasures emporium of all things ancient and cool.
