While a few local bars have dropped the table-top drinking classic, others are filling their place. Harrah's has just launched a new weekly tournament to join Cal Neva's, and even the Grand Sierra's new Xtreme sports bar is considering rearranging everything for the occasional beer pong party.

Winner takes all at Bully's U, where the beer pong tournament has a $10 buy-in, and pitchers of Bud and Bud Light are just $7.

Fridays : 9 p.m. (Play begins at 10 p.m.)

Each week, Harrah's hosts a World Series of Beer Pong tournament in the Zone 21 Sports Bar area. In December, there will be a satellite tournament that gives a team the chance to play in Las Vegas for $50,000.

Sign-up at 1:30 p.m. for this 2 p.m. tournament with winner taking all of the $20 buy-ins. About 10 teams usually dive in.

Saturdays : 9 p.m. (play starts at 10 p.m.)

Club Cal Neva's weekly tournament has $500 prize pool every week, with each team of two getting two pitchers of beer. If you're solo, you can just pay $10 and get matched with a partner at random (what could go wrong?!).

Every 2nd Friday of the month 8 p.m.

The second Friday of the month is Beer Pong night at Vixen. For a $20 buy-in you can compete for prizes with all the beer need for play covered. First prize ranges from $200-$400, with a $1,000 prize in April. Second prize is always $100, third is $50 and fourth is $25 and a case of Red Bull.

Knuckleheads no longer hosts beer pong tournaments, but they've got one ping pong table dedicated to beer pong, and another in reserve.
