no matter where youre from, Strega is the place to be in Reno. Its chill, the bar tenders are old school and love to bull shit..you simply cant beat Strega. Chill night or into to the city for newcomers, you cant feel anything but welcome. On that note, a special recommendation goes out to my fellow Portlanders...you need to feel at home? Miss the unique vibe of Portland? This is the place. I hope anyone (including locals) gets to experience the out of place and yet completely in tune scene that is Strege..come on, ever heard a more enticing idea?

Very chill place. Bartender (and owner I believe) is very cool. Outside seating on deck makes a great place to have a beer on a warm day.

As a person who doesn't frequent downtown that often, I sometimes find it difficult to fight through the piles of club go-er's and rowdy college students (nothing against them of course) just to find a calm, relaxing environment to enjoy a drink and some new company. Well, I've found a new gold mine here in our biggest little city!
A friend recommended Strega Bar several weeks ago, and being a skeptical person about new trendy spots, I decided to swallow my doubts and give it a whirl.
It's house-party feel gives you a certain sense of comfort within minutes of walking through the door, and having sat there for quite some time, I'd be surprised if you could name a time where you weren't personally greeted by the bartenders. The casual atmosphere makes it easy to toss hours away there, wandering from room to room (Strega also displays local artists works), enjoying the amenities they have to offer. The front porch is a hideout for lots of interesting characters, all of whom were friendly and talkative. The bar is a little too small, yes, but even when it got a little busy, the bartenders were fantastic about checking on everyone. My one complaint- the tables outside are a little unstable, and I nearly knocked them over several times. Other than that, great bartenders, even better drinks, and an experience I will go back for.

It took someone long enough to finally get it right!! Beautiful, calm, but fun space which seems to attract all walks of life. I went to Strega with my boyfriend a few weeks ago on a random bar search and we had such a great time! The crowd was fun and very chatty, we met so many different people and the service was top-notch! I've been back a few times and it's always a good time there.
