This bar is like a second home to me. So friendly and open but very professional too. They recently re-modeled and added a third bathroom for men with a toilet and two urinals which has helped a great deal with what used to be a ridiculous bathroom line. They have also changed what used to be a large unusable stage that was kept behind a curtain to a new smaller semi-circle stage with two dance poles. They have repainted, added a small, quick service pour bar in the very back that is open on Fridays and Saturdays to help wth the busy nights, re-upolstered their seating benches, tiled the dance floor, added new state of the art lighting devices, and also help support the local art scene by displaying artwork by local artists. They've really gotten themselves together and have really come out as one of Reno's best Gay, Straight, Bi, Lesbian, WHATEVER! bars! It's packed on Friday and Saturdays, so get there early to claim your spot at the bar, because even with 3 bartenders and the quick pour bar in the back, getting a drink can take 10 minuets or so. Great music, your typical dance club fare, minus any heavy rap and hip hop. Oh and the dirnks they serve are spectacular, you get what you pay for, and then some. Good strong drinks, at great prices, with happy hour from 6 to 8 pm. I love bringing out-of-towners to this place, as it's always a party, whether there's 5 or 50 people there. 5 Star is one of the best places to get your party on, go with an open mind, because this place welcomes, and has all kinds of people.

I ADORE this bar...

The first time I was here... it felt like I was in a smaller version of my favorite gay-friendly bar on Capitol Hill in Seattle (which I miss going to)!

The crowd is always friendly... the dance floor is often packed with people having an amazing time... and, the drinks will hurt you the next day (Order the dreaded blue AMF!).

The boys are always incredibly incredibly ... HOT!
And, the ladies don't hang out on the wall looking like scared prey.

One of my favorite haunts in Reno... I LOVE going here after a performance, to wind-down and have some fun.
