And the winner is…

5 Star Saloon

5 Star Saloon

132 West St.
Reno, NV 89501
This local gay/lesbian bar provides a more relaxed scene compared to other similar venues. Equipped with a dancing cage and floor in case things get crazy (a distinct possibility), this bar is mostly a nice spot to grab a drink, play some pool and socialize without those pesky business hours getting in the way.

1099 Club (Closed)

1099 Club (Closed)

1099 S. Virginia St.
Reno, NV 89502
The 1099 Club's 1970 origins allow it to claim the title of Reno's oldest gay bar, but the club caters to a mixed crowd of hetero, gay and bisexual clubbers. Once a month, 1099 hosts a straight swingers party, and for graveyard workers, the first drink is on the house after 2 a.m. The Internet jukebox pipes in music of all stripes, 24 hours a day, and the occasional drag show and DJ take the floor. Daily bartender specials are at the bartender's whim.
The Patio

The Patio

600 W. Fifth St.
Reno, NV 89503
Looking for somewhere to sunbathe, have cheap drinks, and play pool, darts or bocce ball? Look no further. Not your average local gay bar (If there is such a thing), The Patio provides karaoke opportunities to the talented or drunk, other live entertainment and a guaranteed good time, though they don't put that last part in writing -- you'll just have to trust.

Tronix Nightclub

303 Kietzke Lane
Reno, NV 89502
Tronix is known as a video music club geared toward the gay-lesbian scene. It is known for its friendly staff, great dance floor including a stage, and the music videos that are playing ongoing throughout the night on 25 monitor screens. The dance floor is energetic and flashy with laser light shows and a smoke machine. On certain nights the Little City Kings group puts on a drag show. Monday is College Night featuring beer pong, 10 cent beers, $2 pitchers and free shots. Tuesday is Ladies Night and 2 for 1 well drinks. Wednesday is Karaoke night.
