Nestled just a block away from the bustling downtown Reno bar scene, Red Martini is a hidden gem with good drink specials, a great music selection to dance to and an atmosphere that's classy but unlike anything else we've got in Reno.

Located at the corner of 214 West Commercial Row, directly across from the train trench, keep your eyes peeled for its signature stainless steel martini glass signs out front. Don't be fooled by its blackened windows, because once you walk through the door, Red Martini opens up into a large and spacious nightclub complete with a wrap around, stainless steel brushed bar, a dance floor located front and center so you can show off your moves and many cocktail tables, couches and VIP booths to relax in.

While there is never a cover charge, you should come dressed to impress. When the sun goes down and the crowds start to gather, the dress code is casual elegance. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the bartenders are always ready to make you a cocktail. With a fully stocked bar you will have no problem wetting your tastes buds with a sexy signature martini or glass of bubbly, so try something new like the delicious mocha martini, sexy alligator or foreplay martini. They don't have any beer on draught but have a decent selection of bottled choices.

One of bartender Reneé Goebel's favorite martinis is a Havana Nights, made with Stoli vanilla vodka, Midori melon liqueur and pineapple. Another drink that she'd like to dub the Red Martini is the Absolute 600, made with Absolut mandrin vodka, orange juice, vanilla and lime.

With its female-friendly décor, the Red Martini's walls are colored with deep red, black and splashes of zebra print and chrome throughout, giving the bar a sultry, slightly exotic feel. There are plenty of dark cozy corners to hide out in with someone special. Or if you want to be seen, grab a seat at the crowded bar. There are two separate restrooms for each gender, so ladies needn't worry about spending all their time in line when you should be enjoying yourself at the bar or on the dance floor.

The Red Martini is open Wednesday-Saturday from 5 p.m. until the crowds leave or the sun comes up. The Red Martini tries to have something for everyone, from their drink specials to their music selection. Wednesday night is Indie Rock night, so grab your skinny jeans and come enjoy $2 shots of Jameson and $2 PRBs or stop by Friday night for Ladies' '80s where ladies drink free from 10 p.m. to midnight and can hit the dance floor till the early morning hours. If you just feel like relaxing and grabbing an after-work cocktail with friends, the Red Martini offers a daily happy hour from 5 to 10 p.m., including free chocolate fondue and all martinis are two for the normal price of $7.

If you are looking for a downtown bar with a nightclub feel to it and no cover, dust off your best clothes, grab your friends and veer off the beaten path a little to the Red Martini.
